About the program

The DET clinical program is a full educational program featuring a panel of experts, Key opinion leaders in their respective specialties, aiming at raising awareness about the use of drug-eluting technologies, which have emerged as effective and safe options for treating PAD, especially when compared to POBA or bare metal stents.

Program learning objective:
  • Share your experience your peers by submitting your clinical case featuring any DET solution in treating one your patient PAD to help growth the knowledge in the scientific community.
  • By submitting your clinical case, you have the opportunity to be chosen by the program jury from a select group of expert cases. These cases will be presented to a broader community of practitioners who can engage with and learn from you during a live case procedure event, which will be broadcast on February 14th.   • Enhance your skills by joining the live case procedure planned to be broadcasted from a center located in the United kingdoms with a stellar panel of experts commenting the case. Learn more about how to deal with complex lesions as well as how to effectively manage long lesions vs other lesions.

Part 1
Drug eluting Technology : Where we stand now

1. Paclitaxel Safety

  • Overview of recent findings on the safety profile of paclitaxel.
  • Discussion of the FDA's updated stance on paclitaxel-coated devices post-2018 mortality signal.
  • Examination of the latest meta-analysis and its implications for clinical practice.

2. DES & DCB Benefits Over BMS and POBA

  • Comparison of drug-eluting stents (DES) and drug-coated balloons (DCB) with bare-metal stents (BMS) and plain old balloon angioplasty (POBA).
